Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

♥♥♥♥♥

Very entertaining(!) and well made, but I find it a bit difficult to keep track of what's happening exactly in some of the action scenes due to their fast pace.

Madagascar (2005)

♥♥♥

Men in Tights (1993)

♥♥♥

Monty Python Live (Mostly) (2014)

♥♥♥

Moonrise Kingdom (2012)

♥♥♥♥

Taxi (1998)

Taxi 2 (2000)

♥♥♥

Remember as less entertaining than the first?

♥♥♥

The Lobster (2015)

♥♥♥♥

Very entertaining!

They Live (1988)

♥♥♥♥

Tomorrowland (2015)

True Cost (2015)

♥♥♥♥

Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces (2014)

Zootopia (2016)

♥♥♥

Closer to 4 than 2.

Big Trouble in Little China (1986)

♥♥♥♥

Fairly entertaining. Animal abuse-worke, though :'(, and kinda sexist maybe?'

Catch-22 (1970)

♥♥

Quite fun at times, quite confusing at other times, and very objectifying of women with the men treating them badly.

It's a Wonderful Life (1946)

♥♥♥♥

A wonderful film! A bit drawn out at the end, after the angel arrives, with george in determined denial being hammered in the audiences' heads.

La Haine (1996)

♥♥♥♥

Night of the Living Dead (1968)

♥♥♥

Remember as decent?

Raise the Red Lantern (Da hong deng long gao gao gua) (1991)

♥♥♥♥

Suspiria (1977)

♥♥♥

The X-Files: I Want to Believe (The X Files 2) (2008)

♥♥♥♥

Actually surprisingly good, I think! Definitely a 5 had it been an episode, but maybe my expectation for movies are higher. Billy Connelly looks quite like John Cleese I think!! And the Leoben cylon appears! Also he's Dodd in Memento.

They Live (1988)

♥♥♥♥

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966)

♥♥♥♥♥

Airplane! (1980)

♥♥♥♥

The Huntsman: Winter's War (2016)

♥♥♥

Not that exciting, but not terrible either.

Blow Out (1981)

♥♥♥

Somewhat boring plot-wise. Weak lady and intelligent heroic male protagonist - less stereotypical, sexist character writing, please.

Så Meget Godt i Vente (2014)

♥♥♥

If you want to do what's best for the animals, do not take their milk or kill them. And if you wont talk around the cows as if they're meat, maybe it's because they shouldn't be viewed as meat at all.
Also there seems to be a great deal of mixing facts and speculation, without clearly knowing which is which.

Beautiful audiovisually!

Ikiru (1952)

♥♥♥♥

Seems like a very arrogant daughter in law! Respect (your) elders! Not as in obey orders/superiors, but don't be like "when you die I'm gonna enjoy the money - and gimme your property!" Unless they've really been acting like assholes towards you..

That life is short song is beautiful but shouldn't be directed just at women. It seems to possibly imply that women lose more value as they age than men do, due to their value being more about health/looks. :/ Followed by a scene centered on objectification of women...

Anyway overall I think it's a very good film, and I'd like to watch it again!

Curse of the Golden Flower (2006)

♥♥♥♥

Not as good as House of Flying Daggers as I recall. Possibly not Hero either.

Sexist asshole-emperor! Fuck your "natural order"!
Fucking stupid that that man outranks her even though she's the one with closest ties to the royal bloodline. (of course the whole thing hierarchy/bloodline thing is stupid, but this makes it worse.)

I'm assuming it's gonna be some epic and tragic ending where almost everyone dies but a few a left to mourn what happened. That's what happens when you repress feelings and pretend everything is okay. ;) All those deaths just because a couple of people can't behave! Almost sends a message that the common person is totally insignificant. But then it's probably more metaphorical.

Oldboy (2003)

♥♥♥

Quite confusing.

Real live octopus, apparently. :( Both a stupidly macho-like action, it seemed to serve little purpose and finally and most importantly I imagine it's more painful to be killed by eating than have your head severed off with a knife in less than a second.

He's right, an unforgivable sin. He shouldn't be angry because she turned her down. Not a legitimate reason. There is no legitimate reason. And don't encourage not respecting a no! Even if you don't care, others do!

The main theme reminds me of the Dalish Elves Encampment theme from Dragon Age, maybe due to the mood and the prominent oboe or clarinet(?).

Raise the Red Lantern (1991)

♥♥♥♥

Beautiful audiovisually! Creepy story/scenario!

Maybe an example of internalized misogyni, women mostly competing with other women in a patriarchal society? Down with the patriarch and his goons!

A pro straight-edge message.

Zatoichi (2003)

♥♥♥♥

Nice gang! Both a non-ablebodied person and a transvestite! Bad acting and SFX, though.
Pretty good, but closer to 3 than 5. I've heard that "constructor" track somewhere before?!

Inside Out (2015)

♥♥♥♥

Very touching at times, and generally entertaining!

Life of Pi (2001)

♥♥♥

Remember as sort of mediocre?

Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)

♥♥♥♥
