Got really into this: The people, the battles, the speeches, the fight for freedom in contrast to the real lives of restraint, disappointment, monotony, isolation and devoid of love and contact. Really sad, but beautifully told.
Good photography and beautiful music! I want the soundtrack!

Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004)

♥♥♥♥♥

+1 star for sheer significance and the importance of experiencing it. I'm not positing it is the full truth, merely that much of the material touched upon in it, is still in dire need of radical change.
It's particularly so fucking terrible to witness the casualties of war and all the suffering, juxtaposed with lunatic soldiers masking the cold facts of warfare (and warfare completely uncalled for at that) with the entertainment industry's simplified fiction and glorified (ignorant and cold-blooded) violence. I really can't believe it! It's like they believe they're just performing a regular job and fail to realise their personal, all too real, responsibility. And my country's (Denmark) soldiers were involved in this; I am so fucking ashamed.
Furthermore, watching the soldiers' encouraged child-like mentalities makes you understand how terrible it in turn is, that some twisted mastermind politician cynics-whatever can make these twisted and inhumane decisions, to both brainwash and take advantage of the invading soldiers (and (patronise) the remaining citizens via media bullshit en masse) of their own respective countries and to brutally murder and harm the innocent citizens of the unlucky random (not politically!) weaker military target. If only nationalist bias could be universally put to death, we would take a tremendous resounding step forward.

Very entertaining and VERY touching watch.
My ratings of the films aren't that high generally, but they definitely have a special place in my heart, along with the books, which I was reading before the films.
Helena Bonham Carter seems so sweet here - and so do many of the others.
Alan Rickman's performance is just awesome. R.I.P.! In the books I hated Snape, but Rickman's performance managed to make me both love and hate him.
...and as Emma Watson says: Evanna Lynch, Katie Leung and Bonnie Wright - and herself certainly too - have grown into such passionate activists is just wonderful!

I hope they DO take the time to meet and talk to each other in person from time to time!
...rather than pretending it's a thing of the past, and thinking maybe they're alone in having that sense of family.

I kinda also hope they DO get back together in a new film or even series of films in the future at some point. But we may have to wait a while, if it ever happens. If nothing else maybe it'll be like Star Wars, where someone completely different writes them, though I'd hope J.K. Rowling would, even though I strongly disagree with transphobia. Speaking of that I'm glad many of the actors openly do NOT share her view. But that doesn't mean she's not a skilled writer none the less.

Both terrible and beautiful. I only wish Denmark, and other countries, had their own Michael Moore's so we could start focusing on our own problems rather than just generalizing some loveworthy foreign nation with a centralized system detrimental to everyone...just like the case here in Denmark and in so many other places...something fundamental lost along the way.

I don't think having a job is essential to humans, and thus people getting out of jobs due to technologal progress or innovation in processes is a good thing, IN ITSELF. It frees up peoples time to leisure or do less tedious, monotonous work.

The problem is, that people currently still need a job to fulfill their needs and even basic needs such as housing, and that should be solved by reshaping society so people aren't forced to work to live, where motivation to do so comes from community and solidarity instead.

Another problem is that people in the bottom work just as hard to earn money for a company, but it's the people at the top that reap the VAST majority of profits. I think, in general, that all work is equally valuable to the company, and either people should receive an unconditional universal basic income, or employees should be paid (at least more or less) the same based on amount of hours worked, regardless of position in the company. Of course if you do a job there's no one willing to buy from there's no income in that latter case. Also some are unable to work and should be cared for!

And tax evasion, corruption and bribery needs to be prevented with whatever is necessary to do so.
In a democracy each person should be worth the same, and ideally have similar power, I think. At the same time decisions need to be made on an informed basis, so it requires an educated population, and it may require some specialisation as well, that offsets this idea of equal power, since specialists opinion does matter more in some areas.

If you want to do what's best for the animals, do not take their milk or kill them. And if you wont talk around the cows as if they're meat, maybe it's because they shouldn't be viewed as meat at all.
Also there seems to be a great deal of mixing facts and speculation, without clearly knowing which is which.

Beautiful audiovisually!

Moving stories and beautiful music and I like their philosophies. On the down-side I dislikes Shatners actions/questions at times, fx. talking to Mulgrew about how women are controlled more by their hormones and are different as leaders due to that, and seemingly thinking women should have more responsibility for kids. I also think he's rather creepy towards female fans, with sexual comments and even seemingly kissing without consent a few times. If not for that it would deserve a 4.

Dear Mr. Watterson (2013)

♥♥♥

Calvin & Hobbes is my favourite comic, though the documentary was just decent, even kinda boring at times. Still it recallled fond memories when re-watching and re-reading a few of the comic strips shown during the documentary. They visit an archive where they store the originals, but the viewers are only allowed to look at the documentary host's reactions to seeing the originals, not see the originals themselves. That's not particularly interesting, and if the reason was that they didn't get permission I think that passage - and several others - could've been shortened or removed entirely.
