Radio Days (1987)

Manhattan (1979)

♥♥♥♥♥

Used to be my favourite Woody Allen movie, but thinking back on it that "relationship" of theirs seems like a glorified pedophile story. At the time it became my favourite, though, my age wasn't very different from hers.

I recommend not supporting Woody Allen's movies, after reading/hearing about this:

Bullets Over Broadway (1994)

♥♥♥♥

Closer to 5 than 3.

Helen's agent Sid reminds me a little of Gomez Addams, though a lot less worshipping.

Some favourite scenes:
- he wakes up screaming he's sold out as an artist
- she tells him to be silent and not profess his feelings for her
...and it keeps on going in later scenes, lol xD She plays that really hilariously.

I recommend not supporting Woody Allen's films financially. Search "Dylan Farrow".

The Curse of the Jade Scorpion (2001)

♥♥♥♥

Closer to 3 than 5.

Well written, witty dialogue as usual, but also creepily written characters for women, and a rapey protagonist played by himself, willing to manipulate massively for a kiss and more. ...and the ending really doesn't change his intent

I recommend not supporting Woody Allen's films financially. Search "Dylan Farrow".

Blue Jasmine (2013)

♥♥♥♥

Great acting by Cate Blanchett, good soundtrack and good writing.
Kinda switching back and forth between sympathising with her character and not.

Love and Death (1975)

♥♥♥

Shadows and Fog (1991)

♥♥♥

Pretty atmospheric and occasionally good lines, though it just doesn't seem to really draw you in, perhaps due to the chaotic story or the characters...?

Café Society (2016)

♥♥

Phil is a fucking creep, and a predator.
His uncle is out there too, threatening suicide in front of a woman if she rejects him, like wtf!
Also a pretty uninspired plotline.

Alas Woody Allen, too, is a creep, so I guess it makes sense he'd write characters like these.

Sweet and Lowdown (1999)

Everyone Says I Love You (1996)
