Nice soundtrack! Feels noir-like! Good acting by Norton! Curiously both Maura Tierney and Laura Linney have been Jim Carrey's wives in different movies.I don't know if there's supposed to be a pessimistic morale that it's naive to believe in the good of people, that we shouldn't believe even in such circumstances. If what it wants to add is nuance and doubt I can understand that. To me both optimism and pessimism can equally go too far in that regard. Don't assume innocence, but also don't assume guilt. At least outside the context of violent crime cases, I *think* a positive assumption is significantly more in line with reality.
