Original, mesmerising and very surprising. Minimal soundtrack, long shots, slowmotion. Very arty and great, atypical action for the 2nd half of the film. The first is just a really long setup describing her miserable life repeating over and over, gradually being desensitized. I could expect her becoming a new super hero, or at least imagine sequels

Very mesmerizing watch, and I sympathise a lot with the optimistic, peaceful grandparents. Maybe slightly protracted towards the end, but otherwise, at least, an amazing film. Hoping to watch more Ozu in the future.

Quite beautiful and a nicely designed world, and I love the soundtrack, however it also felt quite rushed and also somewhat shallow on a character/story line basis. But I'd like to watch it again some time, because I suspect it might just be one of those movies that grow on you.

Judging from the cover I expected a rape scene 10 minutes in the film followed by 1 hour and 20 minutes of action packed vigilante punishment. Instead it seemed to be trying to be somewhat serious and somewhat vigilantes-and-feminists-are-often-evil (a trash take), that ultimately turned into a pretty big letdown. Aside from that the storyline is pretty confusing and it frankly wasn't a very interesting watch either.
