Pink Flamingos (1972)

Pretty fucking awesome. The killer rock 'n' roll soundtrack, the characters and acting particularly stand out. However (!), I wasn't so damn happy about the animal cruelty. Granted, it furthered the point of their filthyness and badass-ness in general disrespect for everything around them, however that obviously doesn't justify jack shit - exactly as it wouldn''t have, had the human murder or whateva been real. So fuck you John, but you made a good movie.

Malcolm X (1992)

To put my experience to words: Denzel Washington's performance was truly outstanding; developing from a smartass crook to an honoured and respected spokesperson of a people surpressed and later against the general multicultural blade of racism; and on top of that a pulsating soundtrack and beautiful filming - what more can you ask for? The assasination scene truly moved me; So honest and loving a person ultimately embracing everyone -is brutally murdered while advocating the beautiful everlasting dream of peace and freedom. Terrible. The only thing left to say is: I am Malcolm X!

Audrey Hepburn performs the role terrifically and I love her () grinding cat-like original dialect, and Colonel Pickering is a merry old chap.

Psycho (1960)
♥♥♥
Anthony Perkins performs the role terrifically, I was truly in doubt about what was really going on and the soundtrack was, as typically is from Mr. Herrmann, splendid, however in boiling down to an ultimate experience, I wasn't all that entertained by it. Maybe i'm just psychotic, I don't know. I didn't find the sudden change of characters all that successful, and the way they got around to the psycho analysis ending seemed somewhat forced.

Beautiful depictions of the nocturnal atmospheres of the cities. Notables include: Winona, New York and Helsinki actors and the streetwise blind siren.

Lame, though halfway acceptable action towards the dearly welcomed end.

A unique cinematic experience. It's not horror or action scifi, it's simply mystery, and I never knew what was going to happen next. Audio-visually it is beautifully shot and soundtracked, and with a pretty fascinating design of the interior of the ship. While I think I will certainly remember it, the experience didn't feel particularly impactful and as such I have difficulty rating it.

I attended a Kenneth Anger event, showcasing several of his films, a concert and talks, and this was my favourite of the films. Like "Invocation of My Demon Brother" the visuals are quite mindblowing, but unlike Invocation, the soundtrack ranges from decent to marvelous while Invocation's counterpart was pretty useless, which makes all the difference.

I was sitting the whole movie through, siding with the suspicious neighbour and the skeptical detective and only accepted the alternative right at the end. I can certainly acknowledge all the values of the movie watching the extra material, so maybe a re-view might adjust my review and the knowledge of the story, might allow me to simply delve into the atmosphere instead.

A purely character-driven cinematic experience of a really interesting character, but overall I find the portrayal of the story doesn't live up to its potential.

While Terminator (1990) is one helluva sci-fi feast, Terminator 2 is not much more than a simple action movie whose execution is somewhat poor at that. Still, it's not bad exactly, just soso.

Fairly average overall. As an unrelated note, I thought it was interesting that Mr. Schwarzenegger actually seemed like he could be a good, caring father.

Arnold is awesome as a rebel, and a movie centered around a revolt in the absolute onset of it, is truly legendary, and a fabulous take off. I kinda liked the dystopian world and silly antagonists, but in terms of underlying content, it left me hungry.

Suspected it was all nostalgia, but it was actually kinda neat. Eddie Murphy enters, and pokes fun at, an average Jerry Bruckheimer film, in a film Jerry Bruckheimer himself actually co-produced! Surprising self irony. Let's hear it for Eddie Murphy, and the 80s soundtrack!
