Maybe 2 is actually more fitting, but I'd need to rewatch it to decide.

Batman (1989)

♥♥♥

"Tim Burton & Danny Elfman" is generally sufficient reasoning for experiencing a movie, and this case is no exception.
As the new Christopher Nolan Batman movies are pleasing the massive crowds these days, I decided to rewatch the old 90's Batman series, which all started right here. As said, Batman (1989) has a brilliant atmosphere courtesy of the sparkling audio-visuals, but somehow the story and characters just don't interest me sufficiently. Michael Keaton is not an interesting Bruce Wayne and The Joker does not really work insanity on me, which is a definite letdown, being the two primary characters. Albert is excellent however, and in my opinion better than Michael Caine's version, although I might be biased here. Ultimately I suggest watching Batman Returns instead, if you really want to see the Batman universe shine.

Batman & Robin (1997)

It's a drag to watch and you'll find yourself reconsidering atheism, in the desperate hope that some divine figure will descend from the heavens and spare you the misery. Unlike Batman, Returns and Forever, it attempts to be comedy and it fails beyond recognition. George Clooney's emotional range requires a microscope to barely notice - he's sort of in this silly, self-centered mood all the time and seemingly doesn't give a damn, when for instance, Alfred reveals that he's dying. He's like: "Fuck you old man -and get to work!" but luckily, his atrociously evident attitude is not noticed by his stupid surroundings, so he gets away it.
Hypothetically, had the movie been filled with Poison Ivy scenes from start to end, it would've gotten a much higher score. Unfortunately that's just hopeful speculation, so:
Warning! Steer clear of this one!
